How Coreline Soft Accelerated Modernization of Its Medical AI Imaging Software

About Coreline Soft

Coreline Soft is a publicly traded company specializing in advanced medical AI imaging software with a mission to enhance accuracy and efficiency in disease diagnosis. Founded in 2012, with headquarters in Seoul Korea, Coreline Soft has since expanded its global presence with offices in Frankfurt, Germany, and Atlanta, Georgia, USA.

Coreline Soft’s core flagship product is AVIEW, an innovative AI-driven medical image analysis software. AVIEW provides tools for the automatic detection of pulmonary nodules from LDCT scans, Coronary Artery Calcification analysis, and quantification of various pulmonary diseases such as COPD, emphysema, and ILD through CT imaging. AVIEW mitigates the risk of human errors, expedites the analysis of medical images, and supports radiologists in the early detection and diagnosis of medical conditions. To date, Coreline Soft has broadened its scope beyond thoracic CT to include AI developments for CT-brain and CT-spine imaging.

The problem – Refactoring a decade’s worth of code

Since its inception, Coreline Soft has accumulated an extensive codebase to improve accuracy and efficiency in disease diagnosis. However, the substantial codebase required refactoring. Over time, the overwhelming build times made the development team hesitant to initiate any modifications. In their efforts to rectify the issue, the development team explored building an in-house distribution tool and swiftly realized that it would not give them a competitive advantage. They also considered open-sourced alternatives like Clang and GCC but were wary of the potential risks to their development environment.

How Incredibuild helped

Coreline Soft tested a few platforms, including Incredibuild. Based on Plateer’s recommendation and Incredibuild’s performance, they chose it as the most effective solution for their Windows-based production. The decision to utilize Incredibuild was a game-changer because of its seamless integration with the existing Windows development environment. Incredibuild offered a plug-and-play solution, eliminating the need for the developers to undergo complex training or consider additional factors. Since the implementation, build times have significantly reduced with faster and more frequent iterations. This in turn boosted developer productivity and gave more room for creativity in other areas. Incredibuild helped the team focus on product innovation rather than process inefficiencies.

Choosing Incredibuild was pivotal due to its seamless integration with our existing Windows-based development environment, resulting in a significant decrease in build times
